Gabrielle stared at her journal, still shaking her head at Collin's idiocy. Pretty. She stood and started to stalk around her room. She was feeling more and more like a caged animal... and thinking of caged animals made her think of Tonks and Remus... and thinking of Tonks and Remus made her think of them dying out there... and thinking of them dying out there made her think of them all dying here under the vines.
They had tried. They had gathered yesterday and tried a few things... none of which actually worked. Maybe if she went and found Hermione... no. Headmistress McGonagall... no one had seen her. The more she thought about it all the more the panic started to well up. She was not the type to do things without careful consideration... but everyones careful consideration and research had gotten no where.
Sitting back down at her desk, Gabrielle looked at the
BASIC BLAZE BOX. She'd never gotten a straight answer out of Fred or George. Hermione had thought it might help but they never really did figure out how best to use it. Gabrielle picked up up, pacing the room, looking out of the window at the vine strewn grounds. It was that sight, combined with the memory of Collin calling the bloody things pretty that did it.
Gabrielle had grown up being warned about a Veela temper. She tried to always look at things through reason and logic. But everyone had a breaking point and she could swear the vines were mocking her. Sitting the box on the window ledge, Gabrielle opened the casements and pulled her wand. She levitated the box... still slightly swollen and stuck shut... and dropped it into the densest bit of vines she could see from her window.
The response was instant. The vines curled around the box, pulled it closer, but not before Gabrielle sent her best blasting hex right at it. She might not have gone to school, but she'd grown up with some of the greatest wizards of her age. The explosion was spectacular... the school being suddenly treated to a fireworks display of the sort that had not been seen since... well since Fred & George's last year to be exact.
